Research Co-Authoring Program Submission Guidelines
The Charter Cities Institute (CCI) accepts submissions for research paper ideas related to charter cities and innovative urban governance as a part of our Research Co-Authoring Program. In particular, CCI is keen to publish pieces that highlight how the concept of charter cities in emerging markets can help spur development (broadly defined).
In the proposal please include: (i) a tentative title, (ii) a tentative abstract, (iii) the research question you want to answer or examine, (iv) specific hypotheses (if any) you have about this research question, and (v) how you propose to answer the research question (can be qualitative, quantitative, or a combination of the two).
If we are interested in pursuing the submitted proposal, you will receive a response within ten (10) working days indicating next steps.
CCI will typically request a phone or video meeting to go over the paper proposal if we have questions, require clarification on certain aspects, have recommendations on possible approaches, or wish to suggest alternative or additional factors the researcher could also think of examining. In this meeting a timeline of specific milestones is set, where the CCI Research Team and the researcher come to agreement on what date a final draft of the research paper should be sent to CCI.
The subsequent milestones include:
· A detailed outline
· A first draft
· A second draft
· The final draft.
The CCI Team will make edits to the final draft and create graphic designs for publishing. At this stage, the researcher may also be asked to submit any visuals, charts, pictures, or graphs that may help clarify or elucidate any parts of the paper. Once a final draft is accepted, CCI provides compensation to the researcher/author. Compensation will be discussed with selected authors.
If you are interested in submitting research papers to CCI, please email your research paper proposal to [email protected] with the email subject “Research Co-Authoring Request”
