December 22, 2021 – The Charter Cities Institute (CCI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR). The primary aim of the partnership is to cooperate in promoting increased competitiveness and investor friendly practices benchmarked on charter cities best practices in Zambia.
This strategic partnership was formed to advance a shared goal to support Zambia achieve its long term development aspiration of becoming a prosperous middle income country by year 2030. The MoU formalizes the cooperation between ZIPAR and CCI.
The two parties committed to cooperate in undertaking evidence-based research aimed at improving investment attraction, job creation and more broadly, economic development in Zambia. ZIPAR and CCI are currently working on the following collaborative research projects:
- The Public Private Partnerships Approach: Leveraging Private Resources for Infrastructure Development in Zambia
- The Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Pakistan and Zambia (SLEPZ) Belt and Road Initiative
